Topic 2 Science with Mrs Sharma

Today my look messing but Iv'e learn't a lot about science and

experiments and stuff like that.

Thank you Mrs Sharma for teaching us about science.

View, read, learn to pronounce the names of 20 basic pieces of equipment found in a laboratory.

Work with a partner to check out:

  1. Whether you can read and pronounce each equipment name.

  2. What each equipment piece is and is used for.

  3. Check against the handout you are given, using this code:

^^^^ Can read-pronounce, and know what it is and used for in a laboratory.

*** Can read-pronounce, and kind of know what it might be used for in a laboratory.

>> Can be read-pronounced, but don’t know what it is or used for.

? Struggling to read and pronounce, or know what it is or used for. .

Get to know and use the 20 basic pieces of laboratory equipment

Know your laboratory equipment - Stage 1

TASK with a partner online or do this task on your own or with your family:

  1. Take a look at each photo of laboratory equipment. Talk about what it is and how it might be used in science work.

  2. Learn the names of each of the pieces of equipment

CAN YOU SAY, READ AND WRITE (without copying) THE EQUIPMENT NAMES?

NEXT

  1. Read the information boxes about each laboratory equipment - below the photos. Highlight words that are new or tricky in what you read. Ask about these when the class shares and your teacher.

  2. Create a google doc. Match photos and information boxes, and add the matching name label.

When you have completed this task, you will be able to name and explain and describe each of the most common pieces of equipment used in a laboratory.

Tech: 2022 first day of tech

The first day of my tech class with Mrs Sharma and my classmates.

we talked about scientists and studtying it was very fun.

Task: Think about scientists.

A scientist can study the organic and inorganic matter of the earth and the universe. There are three main branches of science: physical science, earth science and life science. Each of the three branches of science has its own career applications. +

The three branches of science.

Physics - Electricity, Gravity, forces, Motion, Magnets

Chemistry - chemicals , salts , medicines, elements

Biology - Plants,  animals, environment, human

Type of scientist

Business scientist

Communicator scientist

Developer scientist

Investigator scientist

Regulator scientist

Teacher scientist

Notes of scientists

Ecology is the study of organisms and how they interact with the relationship between living things and their habitats. She started out having a passion for the beach and she was wanting to know more about seashells and crabs.

She had the inspiration of studying more about things in the sea like fish, animals, sea food, and salty water. She took the opportunities  to study at college and she learnt about physics, chemistry and biology.

She gave herself advice she said the more experience  in the water wanted to push herself and to study more and more about the water and fish.

Cleverest science words

Knowledgeable - intelligent and well informed.

Exceptional - unusual;

Rational - based on  logic.

Sensible being responsible

 Discerning - showing good judgment

Brain - the brain is like a control

Gas liquid solid

Acid

4.Physics - deals with the structure of matter and how the fundamental   It studies objects ranging from the very small using quantum mechanics to the entire universe using general relativity.

5. Kettle is a matter of gas that if you put water in it, it will become hot water and it will evaporate.

Term 4 Week 6 "Clock Out" Water slide, Baking and Milk

In Week 6, the Year 7s and 8s had a fun time baking, having a water slide and getting free MILK!

MILK!

We really like coming back to school, well I do. One afternoon we got given MILK! Some of us took more than 10 because some people didn't want any milk. It was very noice because we haven't had milk in at our school in a very long time. I have really enjoyed coming back at school.

Water Slide

Last week, we had a water slide and our classes were on the water slide - they were excited!
Our bubble got ready for the water slide. Only four people didn't join in because 1forgot there towel and couldn't join the rest didn't want to go on the water slide, even tho it was burning. Watch the people slide down look very fun, some of them even were being like a horse and a train it was so funny to watch them have an fun imagination.

Mike our caretaker of our school he is the best! He set up the water slide on the hill. The other classes went first, the only reason why our teachers let us on the water slide in the afternoon is because we didn't go on our trip to Wero.

NASA coloring book

Today we did a coloring about NASA, in cybersmart learning with Mr Goodwin our cybersmart teacher.

He is a really cool guy and it was pretty fun to do this coloring.

Cooking breakfast

Today my classmates, teacher and I all made eggs on toast. We got to choose if we could go live on Google Meet or not. I went live but kept turning my camera off and on. My classmates and teacher cooked the same thing.

One student cooked a beef sausage, pork slice, sirloin steak with eggs and toast that was Pita. Malachi cooked food for his family and he also made scrambled eggs, mushroom and ham - that was so kind of him to do that!

I liked how Pita was so patient because he made his brekky before he joined class. He waited outside while everyone else was cooking.
Our teacher made scrambled eggs on toast with spaghetti and bacon.

We had two guests today, Mrs Hamilton our Principal and Room 6 teacher, Ms Erick. It felt kind of like a dream kinda, it was so much fun.

Lastly I made scrambled eggs on a croissant because I had no bread to make toast. I hope we can do something like this again. :>

This is what my finished product kinda looked like (I didn't take a picture).

Hangi Feast

This is my explanation so far about "What is a hangi".

Mrs T, one of our Deputy Principals, has asked us to write an explanation about hangi. This is part of our te reo Maori learning for this term.

I like the vegetables in the hangi and the meat is so good!

I would love to hear your comments or questions.

Renei Niue Language Week

Fakaalofa lahi atu kia mutolu oti!(greetings to all)
This task was about Niue language week.
One of the best things that I have done this week is watch and YouTube video about these two
 girls trying out Niue food.
My opinion is that the two girls and cute and so funny.

Cybersmart Challenge #25 Renei Attributing Images

This week's cybersmart challenge was learning how to attribute images we use in our own learning.
This is an important process because if you do not attribute someone else's images this could be seen as claiming their work as your own that's your own.
You should still attribute images if they are free because it shows good courtesy to the original creator.

Cybersmart Challenge #24 - Replying to comments

This week's cybersmart challenge was about how to reply to comments on your blog posts.
I think this is an important slide for some people because, some people don't reply properly.
Replying to your comments is also an great way to keep the conversation going about what you learn.
